About the Carman Brook Farm
The Carman Brook Farm is a family farm that spans five generations of dairy and two generations of producing pure and natural Vermont Maple Syrup in Highgate Springs, Vermont. Our maple syrup business began in 1998 to help subsidize dairy prices. Those darn prices for milk fluctuate up and down every other year. We’re still making milk for now, but watch out for new products from our farm.
Today, you can find Daniel managing the dairy barn and helping with maple syrup production. Karen running the books, maple marketing, production of products and shipping in the sugarhouse. Son, Levon, works in the woods and is in charge of production in the sugarhouse, producing maple products and developing a wholesale market.
You can find our maple products available online and from the farm gift shop, if you are in Highgate Springs, VT. Check out our wedding and party favors, gift baskets, APO/FPO shipments and holiday and seasonal treats.
Visit the Carman Brook Farm
Visit us in Northwestern Vermont only a few miles from I-89, Lake Champlain and the Canadian border; tucked into a beautiful valley on a dead-end dirt road. Enjoy maple samples in the sugarhouse and learn how maple syrup is made.
The maple sap is harvested in the early spring if you want to see the steam and watch the syrup draw-off the evaporator, plan your Vermont visit in March. There are always plenty of treats to sample in the sugarhouse. Daniel especially likes to pour samples from the day’s syrup coming right off the evaporator.
